The Gopher Marching Band has experienced a historic level of success during the 2015 competitive marching season. The band has participated in three shows so far including the ABODA Evaluation Show at Williams Field High School with the ASU Marching Band staff. The ASU staff was extremely helpful and gave the Gophers lots of ideas to refine our show and prepare for our graded shows. The first graded show on September 26th was the ABODA Desert Vista Invitational. The band earned a “good” rating and won four captions (special awards) for music, marching, show, and guard. The band is very proud to announce that we won 1st Place in our division at our most recent competition, the Campo Verde Invitational on October 10th. At that show, the band swept all special awards for best music, marching, show, percussion, and guard. The band will perform their award winning show at the ASU Band Day this upcoming Saturday, October 17th. On October 8th, the Gopher Band took delivery of a 16’ double axel cargo trailer to haul our instruments, props and flags. Incredible thanks go to Principal Thad Gates. On Friday, October 16th, the Pinal County Attorney will present a check for $1500 to the Gopher Marching Band to help with paying entry fees, transportation, and new equipment.
